When you are choosing the name for a new template, make sure that you make it as specific as possible, so that you can easily identify between them. It can be helpful to include the grade, timings of the shift and department if necessary.
If you already set up templates with ambiguous titles, then you may wish to rename them. You will need to open the ambiguously named template, save it as a new template with a more specific name and then delete the old one.
You can do this by opening up that template as though you were going to use it to publish a shift. Follow through each section– you will need to select a nominal date in the future as well as a reason for vacancy to allow you to proceed to the end (don’t worry these won’t be saved on the template) – and make sure not to change any other details.
When you have reached the end, make sure not to select ‘Publish or ‘Cancel’. Instead, on the right-hand side you will see the option ‘Would you like to save these changes over the existing template?’ and you can select ‘no’. You will then be able to type in a new template name and click ‘save’. This has now saved a new template with a more descriptive title. Remember to then select ‘Cancel’ on the job listing to ensure that this shift isn’t published. The only thing left to do is to navigate back to the old template (at the top of the ‘Publish a shift’ page, in the ‘Existing templates’ list) and select the bin icon next to it to delete it. Repeat the process for all ambiguously named templates to more easily identify the one you want in the future.
